As the Chief Academic Officer, my primary goal is to maintain the quality of Champlain's academics. I oversee all educational programs and activities to ensure that our students' experiences are challenging and relevant, and that each Champlain graduate is skilled and fully prepared to pursue a rewarding personal and professional life.

A student-centered, professionally focused education lies at Champlain's core. Because most of our faculty spent years in their professions before coming to the classroom—and stay current with the latest developments in their fields-Champlain students benefit from relevant, in-class instruction and out-of-class experiences. Faculty affiliations in the business and professional communities create numerous internship opportunities for our students, who gain real-world experience by participating in the day-to-day operations of their host businesses.

Champlain's Education in Three Dimensions underpins our approach to the academic experience. Through the Major  Dimension, the Core Dimension and the Life Experience and Action Dimension (LEAD), Champlain students engage in a four-year journey that prepares them for challenging careers; introduces them to the academic and cultural experiences that will inspire them to life-long learning; and provides skills and awareness-based programs and activities that help each student rise to his or her fullest potential.

We also believe that students are well-served when they live among the people and learn the customs of other cultures. While it is commonplace to note that the world is growing smaller, it is remarkable to experience how multi-faceted the world actually is. Champlain Abroad campuses in Montreal, Canada and Dublin, Ireland provide third-year students with the chance to immerse themselves in a culture and lifestyle unlike their own and, in so doing, become better able to take their places as active members of the global community.
