Our Mission
The Student Government Association is an advocate for the Champlain College community and acts as a liaison for students to the Administration, Staff, and Faculty. The SGA strives to effect change on behalf of the students, thereby creating a more enjoyable environment and a promising future. The SGA offers opportunities for leadership development, involvement, and personal growth within Champlain College.

We are the STUDENT government, so what can WE do for YOU?
If you have some great ideas let us know!
You can get support for these ideas by applying for a Student Initiative or a Grant, depending on what you are looking to do. Look at the bottom of this page for requirements and applications.
What we are already doing for you:
Student Government meets a minimum of once a week to discuss and plan activities and events we can do for the students. We also meet with President Finney once a month to keep him informed of what we are doing and also what the students would like to see happen on campus.
Part of what Student Government oversees is clubs on campus and the funding for them. If you would like to start your own club that is not already in existence, you can submit a proposal at the beginning of each semester.
The College Council is made up of faculty senate, staff counsel, administration and student government members that make decisions to better the campus on behalf of the groups that they represent. The Student Government members are all active voting members on the College Council and on campus sub-committees including Calendar and By-laws, Diversity and Inclusion, Sustain Champlain, and Academic Regalia.
