Your Trio of Advisors

To be sure you're headed in the right direction, and to keep you on track, Champlain provides you with a trio of advisors to help you shape and define your educational and career goals.

  1. Academic Advisor: Available to help you with all the details of your program, your academic advisor in the Advising & Registration Center makes sure you understand the requirements necessary for graduation and reviews your degree program every semester to check that you are moving full steam ahead.
  2. Faculty Advisor: Your choice of courses and field of concentration is the focus of your faculty advisor. Providing you with timely updates on course content and current trends in your field, your faculty advisor is an invaluable guide to your future. You may meet with your faculty advisor prior to course registration to plan for the upcoming semester.
  3. Career Planning Advisor: Making the connection between your courses and your career is your career planning advisor. You'll find out about the courses that allow you to acquire the skills most valued by employers, recent career options that have developed for your major and upcoming internship and job opportunitities. To stay focused on your future, you are encouraged to work closely with your career planning advisor starting your first semester.

If you're trying to keep your head above water in an especially challenging course, help and advice are available from peer tutors and through study labs.
