Community & Visitors
Champlain College strives to be an integral part of the Burlington community. Champlain students, faculty and staff work closely on community initiatives that require a unified approach to achieving success. We have been an integral part of such important community projects as volunteering for disaster relief and Habitat for Humanity, tutoring local refugee students, and providing food and resources for the Salvation Army.
Champlain College also welcomes the community to use a number of our facilities, and to enjoy numerous campus events organized by College Centers and student organizations. Community members can utilize Champlain’s library, and are welcome to attend our theatre productions, guest speaker events, and Late Night Saturday tapings on campus.
In addition, Champlain has fostered greater communication through ongoing outreach programs between the College and its neighbors on the Hill. Discussions about neighborhood concerns such as historic preservation and protecting the Hill neighborhood’s unique character highlighted the need for Champlain to work closely with its neighbors to develop a workable plan for the campus’ future.
Champlain's gas emissions-per-student are among the lowest for colleges in the northern U.S.
