Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Champlain College Core Curriculum, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate competence in the following areas: critical and creative thinking, ethical reasoning, global appreciation, oral communication, technology and information literacy, and written communication.
- Use disciplinary frameworks (language, methods, approaches, and limitations) to analyze problems; consider how these disciplinary frameworks complement, support, or compete with one another.
- Integrate disciplinary knowledge and method into a coherent interdisciplinary product.
- Use inquiry to consider fundamental institutions, practices, and traditions of U.S., western, and world civilizations to understand contemporary global issues.
- Identify, consider, and integrate diverse perspectives, beliefs, ethical frameworks, and experiential learning when defending possible personal, academic, and professional choices intended to create positive change in an interconnected, global community.
- Use inquiry to consider the impact of science on individuals and communities.
- Identify the influence of aesthetics on individuals and communities, and demonstrate aesthetic expression in personal and academic pursuits.
- Apply rhetorical strategies to read critically and to write texts that are effective for a particular audience, purpose, and context.
