Katherine Johnson

Katherine Quimby Johnson is a freelance writer and editor. Her work has appeared in Vermont Magazine and edible Green Mountains, as well as in local newspapers, and she contributed to At Grandmother's Table: Women Write about Food, Life, and the Enduring Bond between Grandmothers and Granddaughters, (Fairpoint Press, 2000). Kathy received a B.A. in English and German from Colby College and an M.A. in German from the University of Vermont.

Kathy is currently completing her first novel for middle grade readers. A member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), she writes for children and young adults because those are the stories she is compelled to tell. She has worked as a children's librarian and is a member of Vermont's Green Mountain Book Award committee, a student-selected award for grades 9-12. She is also a member of the board of the League of Vermont Writers.

Kathy also writes as Katherine Quimby.
