- March 2009: "GDC 2009: Game Design Challenge Tackles My First Time" | gamespot.com | March 25, 2009 -- Heather Kelley, Creative Director on the Emergent Media Center's UNVAW project, wins annual Game Design Challenge at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco, CA. Working with Erin Robinson from Wadjet Eye Games, Kelley conceptualized a creative game in the competition led by Eric Zimmerman of Gamelab.
- March 2009: "The Games Seniors Play" | WCAX.com | March 9, 2009 -- On a snowy day, the Champlain Senior Center is the place for a hot competition. Last year, the center got a Nintendo Wii. Board member Marcia Mason explains, "It's been an instant hit right away!" The system's wireless controllers let players use several games including bowling. Staff and medical advisors say the Wii gives seniors gentle exercise and keeps hand-eye coordination sharp. - December 2008: America's Army releases the two missions created by Champlain College students at the Emergent Media Center on their website, available for download.
