Support Services for International Students
Champlain offers a full range of services to help international students make a smooth transition to college life in the United States.
- An international student advisor will help you with questions involving immigration, employment regulations, travel and finance, and adjustment to the American lifestyle.
- Special assistance with your coursework is available through peer tutors, volunteers who take notes in class for you, and drop-in help centers that focus on math/accounting and computers.
- A specially tailored orientation program for international freshmen helps introduce you to college life in the USA. You'll come to campus a few days before the semester begins to take part in programs that address topics such as academic life, immigration rules, and personal safety.
- The International House is a residence hall specifically designed for international students and for American students who are interested in international issues. The residence hall is equipped with cooking facilities and computer hook-ups, and it stays open during holidays. (International students may also choose to live in one of our regular residence halls.)
- The International Club offers both international and American students the chance to mingle and sample an invigorating potpourri of cultures.
