Admissions Ambassadors

Assistant Director of Admission
Admissions Ambassadors are students whose responsibilities include calling potential students, giving tours to students and families who visit Champlain, and doing other work in the Office of Admission. Students who are interested in this position apply, and are hired for being outgoing, friendly, and experienced at the school. Through training they learn more about Champlain's history in order to develop an in depth knowledge about the campus.
Conduct Review Board

Director of Residential Life
The Conduct Review Board is made up of volunteer faculty, staff and students. All volunteers must be able to attend some of the meetings, which will be scheduled at varying times twice each month. From a pool of approximately 25 members, minimum of three (3), maximum of six (6) members must be present at each meeting. Hearings are expected to be kept confidential. Any member of the board with a conflict of interest, or personal relationship with the student will be removed from that particular case. Orientation Leader

Orientation leaders are responsible for giving their best effort in easing the transition for freshman from home to college life. Champlain now holds three orientations per year, one at the beginning of each semester, and one in the summer. Champlain orientation leaders work hard in planning activities, organizing events, answering questions, and getting personal with the incoming students, freshman and transfers. The hiring process for Orientation Leaders happens at the end of each semester for the following semester's orientation.
Peer Advisor

Director of LEAD
Peer Advisors (PA's) are a vital part of the required student life skills program, Life Experience and Action (LEAD). Each PA is assigned to a group of first-year students and remains with them throughout the academic year. Although their goals include getting to know the students and serving as a general resource for them, a PA's main responsibility is to guide new students through the requirements of the first year of LEAD. PA’s go through extensive leadership training to become more skilled in facilitating groups and running the various LEAD activities, including some elements of Orientation, a dialogue series, cultural simulations, various programs in the residence halls, and assistance with resumes.
Resident Assistant Program

Director of Residential Life
Resident Assistant (RA's) are considered part of the Champlain College Residential Life Staff and are responsible for upholding the policies of the College and attending all staff development workshops, orientation activities and committee meetings. RAs are supervised by a Head Resident or Area Coordinator and the Director and Assistant Director of Residential Life. RAs are on duty on average of 3.5 nights per week when they must be present in the residence hall and available for students. This duty is scheduled in cooperation with the Head Resident or Area Coordinator and there may be some flexibility from week to week. The RA is responsible for planning two social events and two educational events per month in the residence hall. RA positions will be from approximately August 15 through May 15 of each academic year, including the spring break.
Student Government Association

The Student Government Association is a group of seven students elected by the student body. All positions are vitally important to the proper functioning of the SGA. Some of the responsibilities of the SGA are to oversee clubs, handle a budget, and be a voice for the student body. Elections are held in the spring semester of each academic year. Any student who has been enrolled at Champlain for at least one full semester, and has a collective GPA of 2.5 or higher at the time of elections is eligible to run.
