BURLINGTON, Vt. - Champlain College's Workforce Development Center is offering a series of informative online workshops aimed at helping human resource managers at small to mid-sized companies.

"Knowing that working professionals are constantly challenged by the demands of work and family, we are offering these workshops 100 percent online, facilitated by practicing HR experts," explained Melissa Hersh, director of Champlain's Workforce Development Center in the Division of Continuing Professional Studies.

"The workshops can be accessed from any computer with Internet access, 24/7, and provide the opportunity to gain essential human resource management skills at home or in the office with maximum flexibility," she added.

Delivered in collaboration with HRSentry and their HR Made Simple Kit, a web-based employment law database company with 12 libraries and 7,500 resources updated daily by a team of HR Professionals, the workshops include:

•· Feb. 9 - April 3: What You Must Know About Equal Opportunity Under the Law - How can you keep your organization safe?

•· April 13 - May 15: Preventing Discrimination in Hiring and Managing Employees - What does it mean for your organization?

•· May 26 - June 26: Motivating Employees for Optimal Performance - Effective Performance Management Systems.

•· Aug. 3 - Sept. 4: Finding and Keeping the Right People - HR Best Practices.

Vermont employers may be eligible for $100 tuition reimbursement per workshop through the Vermont Training Program. Champlain also offers a 20 percent discount for purchase of multiple workshops.
