Champlain College Academic Labs (Free Tutoring Services)

Academic Labs

Free tutoring services are available to all students in many subjects through Champlain academic labs.


Accounting and Math Lab

Located in Miller Information Commons, 2nd Floor (Tower Room).

Monday 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Tuesday/Thursday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Friday 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

  • Drop in any time during lab hours, and stay as long as you would like
  • No appointment necessary, and there is no charge for help
  • Help is offered with any type of problem, from assistance getting started to checking the answers for a specific assignment
  • Staffed by upperclass students who have successfully completed the classes they tutor, and who are recommended by faculty
  • Whether you are looking for extra help or just a quiet place to study (with immediate assistance available in needed), please stop by!

Communications Lab

Contact Eric Ronis at least 48 hours in advance to make an appointment.

OC student tutors will be able to help Lab clients with all aspects of Oral Presentation assignments, including:

  • the purpose of the speech and working with a clear focus
  • researching the topic and organizing the content of a speech
  • constructing well-reasoned persuasive speeches
  • writing clear and interesting speeches to inform
  • improving oral skills, such as expanding the range of vocal choices
  • developing appropriate nonverbal communication techniques controlling nervousness and developing confidence as a public speaker

  • One-on-one Peer Advising: The Writing Center will be open throughout the semster for drop-ins and appointments
  • Online Advising: We offer services online with a 24-hour turnaround, Monday - Friday
  • In-class Writing Center Introductions: In a brief 5-10 minute session, we can introduce the Writing Center to your students. If you have a particular area of writing that you would like your students to focus on with us, we can introduce that as well
