Supporting the growth and development of student businesses
"I'm a hands-on entrepreneur," he says, "and that's what this program is all about. The focus is on our student CEOs and their businesses, supporting their growth and development. We supplement the proactive mentoring from faculty and staff with multiple activities, including workshops, an entrepreneurship speaker series and visits to entrepreneurs at their places of business. BYOBiz students learn first-hand what it's like to run a business. You just can't match that for a learning environment."
A serial entrepreneur and angel investor, Bloch was co-founder and CEO of Northeast DBS Enterprises, L.P., a rural distributor of DirecTV® broadcast satellite service, and was lead investor and CEO of Ricochet Manufacturing Company, Inc., which produced protective garments for military and public safety applications. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur he spent 17 years in senior management at some of the country's "best managed" Fortune 500 global services companies. Business Travel News named him one of the "Twenty-Five Most Influential People in the Travel Industry."
