Charlie Nagelschmidt

Associate Professor

A real business man

Charlie Nagelschmidt teaches a variety of courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. His undergraduate courses include The Internet, Information and Business, Implementing e-Business Solutions and Project Management & Team Leadership. In Champlain's graduate program he teaches both the Foundations of Information Technology and Managing Innovation courses.

Charlie also taught in the corporate sector where he designed courses and delivered education classes to IBM, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), and MetLife's IT organizations, among others. Charlie brings a solid sense of business leadership and entrepreneurial spirit to his endeavors and his courses.

In addition to serving as a full-time faculty member, Charlie is a principal in the Internet media and consulting firm, iMarch Partners, LLC, specializing in the application of Internet technology and marketing strategies for small and emerging businesses. With over 25 years experience in information technology and the business consulting industries, his career covers the full spectrum of roles from System Analyst and Business Technology Consultant to Consulting Services Director and Vice President of Information Technology.

Prior to moving to Vermont, he served as the Vice President of Information Technology for several mid-sized Boston area companies with revenues in the $500 million range. Among the companies Charlie has worked for are New England Financial, Hill Holliday Advertising, Daka International, Orbotech, Peritus Software Services, The Boston Company, and the Aquila Group. With extensive experience in application development, Internet technologies, and legacy systems, Charlie has a strong background in financial systems with an emphasis on process engineering and project management that drives new innovations to client business solutions.

Charlie holds a Master of Science in Internet Strategy Management from the Graduate Center at Marlboro College along with a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from Bentley College. He also holds a B.S. in Accounting from Bentley College with highest honors.
