Transferred to Champlain to focus on digital forensics
Why Digital and Computer Forensics?
This field of study combines his interest in computers and law enforcement.
Person of interest
“Technology changes so quickly, and there are always new ways of hiding information,” Dennis says. He’s learning them all, from tracing evidence on a cell phone to documenting how easily white-collar criminals can alter e-mails. When he tackles an assignment, he asks himself, “If I were going to hide something, where would I put it?”
Dennis is developing the habits of mind he’ll need when he gets his dream job with the FBI or CIA. “You need to be very detailed, focused, self-motivated and patient—from getting search warrants and subpoenas to recovering data. It’s becoming clearer how to put the bad guys away. Justice will be served.”
