Lindsay Johanson

Why Public Relations?
“I have a message to convey, and want to make the world more inclusive.”
Energetic advocate
“I love my job,” says Lindsay. As Student Outreach Coordinator of Champlain’s Center for Service & Civic Engagement, she gets students involved with the community on important social issues. She has co-chaired Champlain’s Tent City, where students slept outside for 24 hours or more to promote awareness of homelessness; organized a clothing swap for Burlington’s Committee on Temporary Shelter; and raised funds for the genocide intervention network as part of STAND (Students Taking Action Now: Darfur).
She also learned how to deliver a persuasive message at her internship with Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, a business trade organization. “Champlain has brought me into relationship with new people, and stepping up to the challenge has brought out my voice.”
Extracurricular Activities:
“Driving is my passion. Let’s go shopping!”
