A professor's informative class made him decide to change majors
Opening his eyes to a new perspective
While studying broadcasting at Champlain, Mike Taverna took a marketing course that changed his opinion of everything, including his major. "When I took a marketing class with Professor Jay McKee, it opened my eyes to a whole new aspect of marketing. I knew right then that I wanted to change my major. [Prof. McKee's] class provided real world examples that you can see, and now marketing is everywhere I look."
Mike has grown proficient using industry standards Photoshop and Illustrator, and has become a peer mentor in a freshman marketing class. He's thrilled with his classes at Champlain so far, and has especially enjoyed the various guest speakers who have been invited to speak in class. "That's the great thing about Champlain: the professors have real world experience and they invite great guest speakers. That's something I wouldn't get at a different college."
