Sara Vizvarie
Hospitality major
Hometown: Shelburne, VT
Has been a regular intern for Burlington's luxurious Willard Street Inn
A perfect way to combine work with play
After she transferred to Champlain, Sara Vizvarie had a major epiphany. "I realized I needed variety and change," she says. "Hospitality appealed to me because I get to attend classes in all sorts of fields: restaurants, hotels, management." A natural in planning and management, Sara has worked as event planner and sous chef during the course of her studies.
During her junior and senior years Sara has been an intern at the Willard Street Inn, a luxurious bed and breakfast in Burlington. "You get treated like family," she says of her experience at the B&B. "Sometimes guests will ask me to sit with them for a cup of tea. It's socializing while you work. This industry is very hands-on, and so fun. The program at Champlain can't be beat."
