Timothy LaTulippe

Digital Forensics major

Intern at Champlain's Center for Digital Investigation

Cracking the code on digital investigations

Timothy LaTulippe has been tinkering with computers his whole life, taking them apart and putting them back together for fun or for service. He's so comfortable with the inner workings of computers that he started his own consulting service one summer, helping out-of-luck computer users with their hardware problems. His business was especially kind to people whose professions he could relate to. "Freelance writers and graphic designers would get a discount," he says.

At Champlain, Timothy worked his knowledge of computers into the lucrative and currently red-hot field of digital forensics. "You jump right into the practical aspect of the subject. It's less theory and more hands-on," he says of the program. In addition to his classes, he has served as the secretary of Champlain's Center for Digital Investigation, and has worked with Vermont law enforcement officials with special projects in digital forensics.
