Media Services maintains a pool of equipment that current students can borrow for coursework. Some of our more advanced equipment is only available through your instructor.
Basic Loaning/Rental Policies:
- Equipment can be signed out free for a 24-hour period and reserved up to 7 days in advance. You may renew your equipment loan by phone or in-person for additional 24-hour periods if demand permits. Late equipment returns may lead to a suspension of borrowing privileges. You will be billed for unreturned or damaged equipment. Please do not use equipment for personal or commercial use.
- Each semester, all students must complete an Equipment Usage Release Form. All information must be complete and accurate before borrowing privileges are extended. Be prepared to show your Champlain ID each time you sign out equipment.
- Instructor’s proir approval is needed to sign out equipment during finals.
- Still cameras come with rechargeable batteries. Please keep them with the camera so we can recharge them for the next user.
- You are responsible for verifying that the contents of your rental are complete and in good working order upon pickup and return. Please report any technical issues you experience with the equipment so that we may address them.
- Although every effort will be made to ensure you receive a fully charged battery with your camera equipment Media Services cannot guarantee the battery will be ready for field use upon pickup. We recommend you schedule your rental times accordingly to provide extra setup and charging time before your shoot should it be necessary.
