Internships
An important investment in your future, an internship position offers career-related experience and an opportunity to enhance your professional skills.
Not sure what type of accounting position you are most interested in? An internship allows you to experience a specific sector without making a long-term commitment...or it can often lead to a full-time employment opportunity.
Internship Opportunities
From small local accounting firms to international corporations and accounting firms, Champlain's Accounting students compete for paid, hands-on internships with a variety of companies and organizations.
Some of the places that Accounting students have interned include: Gallagher, Flynn and Company (Vermont's largest independent CPA and consulting firm), Marsh Management (part of the world's leading risk and insurance services firm) and Champlain College in the Financial Aid, Student Accounts and Information Systems departments.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program
The VITA project provides Champlain College students with tax return preparation training from experts from the IRS and the Vermont Department of Taxes. Through the challenge of preparing tax returns for elderly and low-income Vermont residents, students gain valuable "real world" experience and the skills future employers are seeking.
