International Business

If your dreams of a career in business reach around the globe, if your desire for travel goes beyond looking at pictures in coffee table books and travel magazines, and if you want to make your mark in the world, then you can make the International Business major at Champlain College your passport to a successful, rewarding career.

This is a program for someone who recognizes the potential for a globally-oriented business career. You will take the experiential skills you learn in the textbook and apply them on a scale that reflects the changing nature of business as defined by the global economy. Explore career opportunities in management, marketing, finance, human resource management, and logistics and operations.

Global commerce and the Internet have made business far more competitive and opened up commensurately more opportunities. To prepare you to enter new and emerging global markets, Champlain's International Business program explores cross-cultural communication and understanding, international marketing, import/export procedures, international financial mechanisms, and international trade strategies and leadership.

You'll work closely with a multinational corporation and/or an international government agency on specific international projects, as well as intern with a company or organization domestically or abroad.

Vermont Global Trade Partnership

Working with the State of Vermont's Department of Economic Development, the Vermont Chamber of Commerce, the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce and the United States Foreign Commercial Service, Champlain College has helped to create and is part of the Vermont Global Trade Partnership. This partnership is designed to promote international trade through export/import assistance, custom training programs, and international market research for Vermont businesses and organizations. Champlain College International Business students directly assist these businesses and organizations through research, consulting, and assisting in international trade missions.
