Mass Communication

Mass Communication is one of the fastest growing fields to emerge in the past 20 years...and Champlain's program offers an excellent preparation for work in the media communications field such as radio, television, magazines and newspapers, the Web, public relations or advertising.

You'll learn to produce a quality media product with assignments built around real-world media situations such as shooting, writing, and editing a TV news story, a Web news release or producing a music video under deadline.

Step back and look at the media with a critical eye by investigating the political and economic institutions that have shaped the media. Examine the artistic and social heritage through which film, broadcasting and the print media have developed. Study the social and psychological structures, which both influence and are influenced by the media.

Through a balanced approach, the program simultaneously develops technical skill and an understanding of the artistic, historical and theoretical traditions on which the discipline is built.

Are you ready to become a media-savvy professional in a fast-paced environment that spans the broadcast industry, corporate America and the nonprofit world?

At Champlain, you'll dig right in to learn things you never thought possible.
