Campus Life
At Champlain College, we have long recognized that the rigors of academics are only part of what makes the college experience so rewarding. Through outside activities and required Life Skills Dimension programs, you'll learn practical skills that will dovetail with your program of study and your Core academic classes, and enhance your personal and professional life. All aspects of life at Champlain - the residence halls, the activities, even the location of the campus itself - are interconnected. What happens outside the classroom adds another dimension to what you learn inside the classroom.
In designing the Champlain College campus, our goal was to emphasize community. The result is that life here is quite different from what you'll find on many urban campuses. Our residence halls are clustered around the main gathering places on campus - dining areas, the IDX Student Life Center, computer labs, classrooms and the library - creating a self-contained feel. You'll also like the open spaces, which give you plenty of room to toss a Frisbee with friends or sit under a tree with a good book.
We offer a meal plan with options ranging from bistro fare and a grill to salad bars and pizza. With so many places to congregate and so many activities to take part in, if you're like many students, you'll find yourself spending a lot of your free time right on campus. However, when you want to venture out, downtown Burlington and the shores of Lake Champlain are only a few blocks from your door, making a car something most students gladly live without. Even the airport is just 15 minutes from campus, so getting in and out of town is very easy.
