The Wilderness Program
It is the mission of the Champlain College Wilderness Program to provide quality outdoor experiential programming with the commitment to enrich institutional initiatives and principles, while broadening the student experience and expanding understanding of self and community through wilderness concept and immersion.
The Wilderness Program was formed in 2008 and has been ever expanding. Students gather in planning meetings to brainstorm new and inventive ideas for trips. Some of the different things the Wilderness has offered in the past include trips hiking, snowshoeing, ice climbing, and backcountry skiing. There was also an outdoor survival class offered. Suggestions for new trips are always encouraged, and all students are welcome! For more information feel free to contact wilderness@champlain.edu.
