Free Tuition Program for Veterans

About the Program
Champlain College is providing a significant tuition waiver for veterans who qualify for assistance under the Yellow Ribbon Program provision of the Post–9/11 GI Bill. This new education benefit, (also known as Chapter 33 benefits), provides eligible veterans with financial assistance up to the cost of tuition and fees, not to exceed the most expensive in-state undergraduate tuition at a public institution of higher learning in the state they are attending school. The Bill also allows for the benefit, under certain circumstances, to be transferable to a spouse or dependent. Additionally, as a participant in the Yellow Ribbon Program, Champlain is entering into an agreement with the Veteran’s Administration (VA) to fund tuition costs ABOVE the highest in-state undergraduate tuition rate. This agreement will allow Champlain College’s additional tuition assistance to then be matched by VA benefits, resulting in free tuition for qualifying veterans. This benefit is available for education and training that begins on or after August 1, 2009.
