Paul Budnitz, Founder of Social Media Sensation Ello to Speak at Champlain

Paul Budnitz

Please note date change: The talk has been moved from Jan. 28 to Feb. 10.

Paul Budnitz, founder of Ello, will be speaking at Champlain as part of the Build Your Own Business (BYOBiz) Speaking From Experience lecture series on Feb. 10at 7 p.m. in Champlain's newly refurbished Alumni Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Budnitz is the serial entrepreneur who founded and built Kidrobot (a retailer of art toys) and Paul Budnitz Bicycles (luxury bicycles) before starting his latest venture Ello, the explosively growing social media site that people have called the "anti- Facebook," in that Ello accepts no ads and respects the privacy of its members. To assure that Ello always remains ad-free, Ello converted to a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC). A Benefit Corporation is a new kind of for-profit company in the USA that exists to produce a benefit for society as a whole—not just to make money for its investors.
