Champlain College Career Services will host its annual fall Internship & Part-Time Job Fair on Monday, Oct. 19 from 1:30 to 5 p.m. in Argosy Gym in the IDX Student Life Center, 262 South Willard Street. More than 75 employers are expected to attend to meet and talk with students about internships, jobs and networking opportunities.

Among the employers who will attend - Dealer.com, Green Mountain Concert Service, Seven Days, Fuse, Willington Design & Print and ECHO. "Champlain's fair is the best! They have great diversity among the visiting employers who always provide productive and valuable conversations," says a representative of Vermont Intern Program, a returning participant of the Fair.

While the fair is open students, the general public is also invited to attend. Champlain Career Services offers some tips for students to make the most of the event:

First years: Just because you're in your first year of college, doesn't mean you shouldn't be trying to get your foot in the door. Take this opportunity to explore all the types of organizations, and what they're looking for in a intern/employee? Where would you like to see yourself ending up? What do you need to do to get there?

Sophomores: With the recent Sophomore Symposium fresh in their minds, the value of internships was drilled home by the keynote speaker Lauren Berger, founder of the The Intern Queen website. Berger shared with students that internships are arguably one of the most important parts of the educational journey in college. It is also a great time to perfect your resume, and adopt the mantra of "FOI" Figure It Out when comes to finding ways to get your dream internship and eventually a dream job. For more information about how Berger got to where she is today visit her website here.

Juniors: Employers are coming to you! This event is a perfect time to network with employers who are looking for the perfect intern or part-time employee to help them with their company. The only way to truly get experience is to put yourself out there.

Seniors: Many employers are seeking talent to join their team full-time. Part-time jobs can help you first-hand experience while honing skills that employers look for. Many graduates complete internships to help close the gap between "job" and "dream job."
