Vermont's Great Outdoors

Vermont is a four-season free-for-all for the outdoor enthusiast. Lake Champlain—known as the sixth Great Lake—is the best for swimming, sailing and beach bumming. The Burlington Bike Path is a scenic 12-mile trail along the lakeshore for runners, bikers and bladers. During late summer and fall, you can explore the hills and ridges of our lush Green Mountains. Want a challenge? Hike to the top of Mount Mansfield or Camel's Hump, Vermont's signature summits. Ride along the back roads amid dazzling foliage, take a break in the shade of a covered bridge and stop for lunch at a local café. Or take paddle in hand to explore the waters of the Winooski or Lamoille Rivers in a kayak. When winter arrives, the most exhilarating skiing and boarding in the eastern U.S is close by.
