Single Parents Program

  Women Graduates

Students are saying...

“I chose Champlain College for its Single
Parents Program. I recognized the program could give me the assistance
I needed to make the transition from a
stay-at-home mom to a full-time student.
Their counselors really cared, and they
made the transition much easier. The
help I received from the Single Parents
Program was invaluable during my time
at Champlain. I came to Champlain for
an education and to better myself in the
career field. What I received was a life
changing experience.”
Associate’s degree in Business
Management, 1995 and bachelor’s
degree in Business Management, 1998

“I chose to pursue my education at
Champlain College because it was the
only school that offered a program
designed specifically to address the
needs of single parent students. I cannot
imagine how difficult it might have been
to complete my education without the
support that the program staff provided.
The Single Parent Program at Champlain
College is a wonderful resource that
helped me to excel in school and achieve
my career goals.”
Vermont Department of Health,
Public Health Specialist, bachelor’s
degree in Early Childhood Education, cum-laude, 1998

“I feel confident that Champlain will give
me the tools I need to succeed in the
workplace. With its small classes, supportive atmosphere and professional instructors, Champlain allows me to take charge of my education, to realize my dreams and to make a life for my children and myself.”
Currently enrolled in the Multimedia & Graphic Design Program

Who We Are

For the past 18 years Champlain College has offered a supportive atmosphere for single parents. Since its inception, the Single Parents Program has provided exceptional advocacy and support to its participants by offering workshops, access to resources and many services designed to help students reach their educational and professional goals.

Champlain's new president, Dr. David Finney, recently increased our Single Parent Scholarship with the intent to meet full tuition for financially eligible, full time single parent students. Successful applicants for the scholarship will add those scholarship funds to their other federal and state grants and together those funds will cover the cost of tuition.
