Alumni, Neighbors & Guests
Neighbors of the College seeking Guest Borrower privileges should contact the President's Office at (802) 860-2733. Neighbors may borrow library materials by presenting their current Champlain College Neighbor ID.
Neighbors are responsible for all items charged out on their card. Lost or stolen cards should be reported immediately to the Library. All neighbors are advised for their own protection not to loan their cards to other persons or to give materials charged to their accounts to any other person. Since there is only one card per family, neighbors should bring additional family member's information to the Miller Information Commons circulation desk, so we can note who will have borrowing privileges for each account.
Neighbors may take out a maximum of 5 books for two weeks. Library privileges include borrowing books from collections such as New Books, Main Stacks, Children's Collection, and Teaching and Learning. Neighbors who have reached their item maximum will be unable to check out further materials. Neighbors must bring the books(s) back to the library to renew them. If the book does not have a hold on it, the person may check it out for an additional two weeks. Books are subject to recall, so that high-demand items may be accessible to the largest number of patrons. Neighbors receiving a recall notice should return the requested items within 3 days.
Overdue and Lost Items
Any books not returned or renewed on time maybe considered lost and the amount of the full replacement cost for each item will be billed, unless the item is returned or renewed. The replacement cost for books is $75.00 per item. Questions about library borrowing may be directed to Tammy Poquette at email@example.com or call her at (802) 865-6489.
