Adele S. Hodlin, RN, MS, CPHQ, PSLF, is the Assistant VP for Quality and Risk at Adirondack Health in upstate NY. A Registered Nurse, she founded the Northeastern Quality Assurance Association (NEQAA) in 1981 and served as its first President. She has served as the Regional Representative to the New York Association of Quality Assurance Professionals (NYAQAP); and as Editor of the NYAQAP Newsletter.
Adele received her Certification as a Healthcare Quality Professional in 1985. She holds a BS and MS in Psychology and is a 2002 graduate of the Disney Institute for Service Excellence. She was recognized by the Stanford Center for Health Policy as a Safety Culture Leader. Mrs. Hodlin was recently inducted as a Fellow through the American Hospital Association-National Patient Safety Foundation Comprehensive Patient Safety Leadership Fellowship.
Mrs. Hodlin has, during the course of her career in health care quality and risk management, been the featured speaker at several workshops and teleconferences. She is a member of the National Association for Healthcare Quality (NAHQ) and the American Society of Professionals in Patient Safety at the National Patient Safety Foundation.
As a veteran in the fields of health care quality, patient safety and risk management, and a lifelong learner herself, Adele is able to share not only current knowledge in these fields, but also offers a perspective on the rapidly evolving landscape of health care quality, performance improvement and patient safety. Given the complexity of this landscape, and the exponential rate of change, she believes it is both a duty and a privilege to teach future health care leaders.
