Biography

Johanna Nel has been an adjunct online instructor for Champlain College since 2004. In the early 2000's she also taught philosophy courses at a small college in Dubai, ECMIT, affiliated with Champlain College. She developed several courses in the field of philosophy for undergraduates over the years, including Critical Thinking and Ethics.

Johanna and her husband lived in the UAE for 7 years and in the Sultanate of Oman for 4 years. They enjoyed the Middle East experience, the pristine beauty of the desert and its people and moved back in 2011 to the Western Cape, South Africa. Johanna has great respect for quiet leaders in the workplace and enjoys encouraging others to work towards a better business practices and better communities. She currently teaches Ethics in the Professions. She holds a Master's degree (M.A.) in Philosophy from the University of Stellenbosch in Western Cape, South Africa. Johanna is a lifelong learner and the greatest award of teaching for her is being a facilitator and witness to the accomplishments of her students.
