Daniel Hecht has been teaching at Champlain College since 2010 as adjunct professor of Advanced Fiction Workshop, Intermediate Fiction Writing, Grant Writing, and Creative Writing.
He is the author of six novels published in 12 languages and 74 editions throughout the world, with best-sellers in the United States, England, Holland, and Israel. Since 1998, his novels Skull Session, The Babel Effect, City of Masks, Land of Echoes, and Bones of the Barbary Coast have been published by Viking/Penguin, Signet, Macmillan, Random House/Crown, Simon & Schuster, Bloomsbury, and many others.
Prior to taking up writing, he was a professional guitarist, performing classical guitar and American steel-string guitar solo concerts throughout the world, including two concerts at Carnegie Recital Hall. He recorded three albums of original compositions, including Willow on Windham Hill Records and many record companies abroad.
He received his MFA in Writing from the Iowa Writers Workshop in 1992 and a BFA in Writing from Johnson State College.
