Shannon Hawley Mariani has taught songwriting workshops and Introduction to Songwriting Courses at Champlain College since 2013. She has been writing songs for over ten years and released her debut studio album in 2015, which was named one of the top 8 albums in Vermont in 2015 by the Burlington Free Press. She has performed nationally and internationally both solo and with other musicians. She is a self-taught guitarist. Shannon practiced counseling as well as expressive arts therapy at a domestic violence shelter, alternative schools, and an out patient facility. She worked at Cornell University as the Director of Community Center Programs and in Admissions at the Johnson School of Business. Her personal mission is to help individuals find and use their own unique voice and to guide others in making authentic music.
