In 2017, Professor Morris received two local honors. The first was the Vermont Business Magazine Rising Star award. Award recipients are selected by a panel of judges for their commitment to business growth, professional excellence and involvement in their communities and each year 40 winners under the age of 40 are selected. Later in the same year, Professor Morris was honored as a Woman to Watch by the Vermont State Society of CPAs. This award recognized VTCPA members who have made outstanding contributions to the accounting profession, their community, place of employment and/or to the development of women as leaders.

Outside of work Professor Morris is devoted to her wonderful family, her community, and her commitment to lifelong learning. She and her husband have been blessed with three beautiful children. They enjoy the outdoors as much as possible, exploring all there is to love about Vermont.
