Biography

Professor Morris left a successful corporate career to fulfill a life-long dream of sharing her passion of accounting with students in the classroom. Professor Morris graduated from Siena College in Loudonville, NY in 2000 and grew up in Saratoga Springs, NY. Since graduation, she has held several positions, including senior auditor for KPMG and controller for a local credit union. After obtaining her CPA license, she spent five years in various positions of increasing responsibility in the Finance Department at GE Healthcare. Her positions centered around the implementation of Sarbanes Oxley, software revenue recognition, managing system conversions and Six Sigma process improvement. During her time at GE Healthcare, she obtained her MBA from Marist College, located in Poughkeepsie, NY. In September, 2008 she joined the Accounting faculty at Champlain College.

Professor Morris is a dedicated and committed member of the CPA profession. Locally, she is a member of the Vermont State Society of CPAs. On a national level, she was selected as one of twenty-eight young professionals from across the country to attend the AICPA leadership academy in the summer of 2009. In fall of 2009, she was honored to accept a nomination to become a member of the AICPA Student Recruitment Committee and currently holds a position on the AICPA EDGE Conference Planning Committee.

Outside of work Professor Morris devoted to her wonderful family. She and her husband have been blessed with three beautiful children. They enjoy the outdoors as much as possible, exploring all there is to love about Vermont.
