Application Checklists

For fall semester, or academic year study abroad: March 15 For spring semester study abroad: October 15
Champlain Abroad
The following steps outline the application process for Champlain Abroad in Montreal, Canada or Dublin, Ireland.
- Contact the Director of Champlain Abroad Recruiting, Dr. Lynda Reid
- Register for one of the Study Abroad/Champlain Abroad Workshops January 28th and 29th (8:30pm - 9:30pm, Hauke Lounge). To register email your name, major, year and cell phone number to reid@champlain.edu. (Application packages will be available at the workshops or after a meeting with Dr. Lynda Reid).
- Two completed Faculty Recommendation Forms from Champlain College instuctors (Faculty Recommendation Forms included in Application package).
- Completed applications must include an unofficial copy of your transcript (note that it does not need to be an official copy).
- A current copy of your program evaluation that can be printed from WebAdvisor.
- Complete the Champlain Abroad Course Request Form, selecting the courses you wish to take. Be sure to indicate an alternate course.
- Once all the forms are completed you will submit the to Dr. Lynda Reid at the Champlain Abroad Recruiting Office, on the lower floor of Skiff Hall.
- Deadline for applications is March 15th, 2008.
- All applications will undergo final processing by the Office of International Programs.
Exchange and Third-Party Study Abroad
Please note: It is the student's responsibility to submit the completed application - including all necessary supplemental forms - to the Office of International Programs by the appropriate deadline, indicated above. The application, essay and course list may be submitted electronically in Word format only. Faculty recommendations and the unofficial transcript must be submitted in paper format to the Office of International Programs.
Students submitting applications after the above dates un the risk of having their applications rejected. Please allow sufficient time both to ask faculty for recommendations and to give faculty an opportunity to complete them.
Checklist:
- You must first meet with the Study Abroad Coordinator, Peggy O'Neill to discuss your study abroad options.
- Complete the Champlain College Study Abroad application and email it to Peggy O'Neill.
- An essay about your decision to study abroad, your interests, and how it fits into your academic goals. Your essay should be at least 500 words.
- Two completed Faculty Recommendation Forms from Champlain College instructors.
- A copy of your unofficial transcript.
- A list of proposed courses you are interested in taking abroad.
Once you receive approval from Champlain to study abroad, you must also complete your respective program application (for the International Exchange Program or for an approved third-party program).
