Champlain Students Study AbroadChamplain College's ISEP program (International Student Exchange Project) is the beginning of your overseas study experience. Start with a visit to Study Abroad Coordinator, Peggy O'Neill, in the Office of International Programs and the world will begin to open. You'll study abroad for a semester and earn full academic credit for pre-approved courses -- with no added tuition expense -- at your choice of study abroad partners: University College Chester and Southampton Solent University, both in England; Universite du Havre and ESC Rennes, both in France; HES School of Economics and Business in the Netherlands; Skövde University in Sweden; and the International University in Geneva, Switzerland. Scholarships are available, and you may apply your financial aid package to your semester abroad.

  • Study abroad as an exchange student in England, France, Netherlands, Sweden or Switzerland.
  • Your financial aid can be applied to all expenses associated with overseas study.
  • Scholarship information is available.
  • You'll get Champlain College credit for pre-approved courses you take abroad.

Chester CollegeChester College

Education students have the opportunity for practicum in local schools. A beautiful, historic city in notrhwestern England, Chester is an hour from Liverpool and three hours from London.

Southampton InstituteSolent University

In England, Champlain students study at Solent University. It's located in the heart of Southampton, a seaside city of 215,000 on the southern coast of England.

Among Southampton's pluses:

  • It's near London (just over an hour by train)
  • Continental Europe is not far away (by ferry or air)
  • All the amenities of a major city are right there: libraries, theaters, museums, art galleries, and more.
  • It's home to three universities, which together host some 20,000 students from all over the world.

France

Rennes International Groupe ESC Rennes International School of Business in Rennes

In France, Champlain students study at the Groupe ESC Rennes International School of Business, a college of some 450 students located a short 10-minute walk from the center of Rennes.

Rennes, situated in Brittany, is regarded as one of the most appealing places to live in all of France -- and that's saying a lot. It's also just two hours from both Paris and London.

Le HavreUniversite du Havre in Le Havre

Offering an international student orientation and practical training programs, Universite du Havre enrolls 6,590 students in France's second-largest port city. Classes are in French; a two-hour per week French languate course is offered to ISEP students.

Netherlands

HES School of Economics and BusinessHES School of Economics and Business

Honoring a tradition in business studies that goes back to 1867, HES School of Economics and Business is one of the largest single-faculty institutions of professional business education in the Netherlands. It offers a wide range of business-oriented programs preparing students for Bachelor and Master Degrees. Support courses are included in the degree programs such as foreign languages, law and psychology.

The school also offers specially designed international programs which are taught in English, including undergraduate double degree programs with partner schools in Germany, France, the UK, Mexico, Spain and Sweden. As a result of this, nearly one third of the institute's international students gather in Amsterdam each year from all over Europe, USA, Canada, Mexico, Africa, Australia and Asia to complete their international business studies.

Sweden

The University of Skövde in SwedenThe University of Skövde

The University of Skövde in Sweden hosts some 3,000 students. You won't feel abandoned by your native language, because many courses are conducted in English and a large number of Skövde's 50,000 people speak English. Nestled at the foot of Mount Billingen, between Gothenburg and Stockholm, Skövde is a prime spot for downhill and cross country skiing. Other recreational opportunities can be found at Europe's two largest lakes just a half-hour away.

Switzerland

International University in GenevaInternational University in Geneva

International University in Geneva, Switzerland, is a new school with fewer than 200 undergraduates. It offers many of the same courses as Champlain College, as well as instruction in several foreign languages. Students who decide to study at International University will have all kinds of unique opportunities to:

  • Meet people from all over the world (Geneva is teeming with international college students)
  • Intern with a UN agency (such as the International Telecommunications Union or The World Health Organization) or with the European/world headquarters of a multinational corporation (such as Hewlett Packard, Nestle, or DuPont)
  • Explore the old-world city of Geneva, its lakefront environs, and the nearby Alps
