Application Checklists

Deadlines for Champlain Abroad and Third-Party Study Abroad Programs are:

  • Fall semester or academic year abroad: March 15
  • Spring semester study abroad: October 15

Please note: It is the student’s responsibility to submit the completed application -- including all necessary supplemental forms -- to the Office of International Programs by the appropriate deadline indicated above. The application, essay and course list may be submitted through email as a Word attachement only. Faculty recommendations and the unofficial transcript must be submitted in paper format to the Office of International Programs.

Students submitting applications after the above dates run the risk of having their applications rejected. Please allow sufficient time both to ask faculty for recommendations and to give faculty an opportunity to complete them.

Checklist

  • You must first meet with the Study Abroad Coordinator, Peggy O’Neill at oneill@champlain.edu to discuss your study abroad options.
  • Complete the Champlain College Study Abroad Application and email it to Peggy O’Neill.
  • Write an essay about your decision to study abroad, your interests, and how it fits into your academic goals. Your essay should be at least 500 words.
  • Include two completed Faculty Recommendation Forms from Champlain College instructors.
  • Include a copy of your unofficial transcript.
  • Include a list of proposed courses you are interested in taking abroad.

Once you receive approval from Champlain to study abroad, you must also complete your program application.
