Lifelong Career Management

Managing your Lifelong Career

Years 2 and 3: Lifelong Career Management

In keeping with Champlain's focus on your professional development, you'll learn about and develop career management skills.

During your sophomore year, you'll attend our Sophomore Symposium in the fall; a conference-like program with a professional keynote speaker and breakout sessions on lifelong career management topics. In the spring, you'll continue to focus on building career management know-how and learn how to strategically market yourself when you attend a pre-scheduled workshop with other students in your major, facilitated by the Career Services Advisor for your Academic Division.

During your junior year, you'll participate in at least one of the many workshops and activities related to Lifelong Career Management. You can learn how to use social media to your professional advantage, how to write a resume and cover letter, and explore the resources available to you to find an internship, part-time job or full-time job. Take a workshop in public speaking,  or take Eric Ronis' improv-style workshop on your introductory pitch for a job or internship. If you are planning to study abroad, learn the best ways to budget your money for the four months you're away, and LEAD can help you market your study abroad experience to your advantage when you get back.
