Champlain Grads Outperform National Employment Trends
Champlain College's Career Services Office surveyed graduating seniors from all majors when they picked up their caps and gowns on April 12, 2012. The purpose was to find out how job searches were going, how seniors were finding jobs and who needed assistance. The results:
- Approximately 50% of our 2012 seniors who responded to the College's survey had jobs by graduation.
- 83% of the graduates who had jobs indicated that their jobs were related to their career goals.
- When asked what had a substantial impact on the success of the job search, 53% of the employed graduates indicated that they had already worked for the employer, organization or person. Internships, relevant contract work and part-time positions open doors for students
- 68% of our seniors indicated that they had held "career-relevant" internships or part-time jobs during their senior year.
