Early Childhood/Elementary Teacher Education Curriculum

Our Upside-Down Curriculum allows you to begin taking your Early Childhood/Elementary Teacher Education classes beginning in your first semester. By the time you finish your first year, you will have taken upward of five courses related to your major.

Our program lets you choose from two curriculum options: (1) a dual endorsement in Early Childhood (ages three through grade three) and Elementary Education (kindergarten through grade six); or (2) a dual endorsement in Early Childhood (birth through grade three) and Elementary Education (kindergarten through grade six).

Both options prepare you to:

  • meet the developmental needs of students
  • structure the learning environment to achieve age-appropriate learning outcomes
  • integrate technology into the classroom.
  • graduate eligible for licensure in the state of Vermont, which is acknowledged in most states.

Interested in studying abroad for a semester? The Early Childhood/Elementary Teacher Education faculty built the curriculum so you can take a semester studying abroad.
