New York Law School Partnership

Do you dream of becoming a lawyer? Is it the one profession you've always known is the right one for you? Would you like to go straight from high school into a concentrated law school curriculum that includes fast-paced courses in criminal law and contracts in your first year?

Champlain College and New York Law School are changing the landscape of education for legal professionals with their new partnership. Through this partnership with New York Law School, highly qualified Champlain College Legal Studies students, upon recommendation from the program director, may be admitted on merit scholarship to either the Two-Year Honors Juris Doctor Program or the traditional Three-Year Juris Doctor Program, with placement in housing provided by New York Law School.

With Champlain's Upside-Down Curriculum, you'll get practical immersion in Legal Studies topics, starting in your first semester, and New York Law School, likewise, will provide you with a challenging, rich experience-based education, with 23 different clinical options. This is a great opportunity for students to continue their career-focused education at a prestigious, career-centered law school.

Students who meet the requirements of the partnership will receive the following financial aid and housing options:

  • Guaranteed placement into NYLS housing (at the student's expense
  • 4+2 Program: A minimum guaranteed merit scholarship of $25,000 for each year that the student is enrolled in the Two-Year JD Program (up to a maximum of two years)
  • 4+3 Program: A minimum guaranteed merit scholarship of $15,000 for each year that the student is enrolled in the Three-Year JD Program (up to a maximum of three years) provided the student maintains a GPA in the top 50% of their respective class
