Clinical Sites

Variety in clinical field experiences is one of the greatest assets of Champlain College's Radiography degree program. Students rotate monthly to one of the clinical education centers in the greater Burlington area.

By the time students graduate from the two-year Radiography major, they will have accrued 1,600 hours of experience working in a clinical setting.

Fletcher Allen Healthcare MCHV Campus, Burlington, VT

Fletcher Allen Health Care:

  • academic medical center
  • associated with the University of Vermont's Medical School
  • associated with other allied health programs
  • includes 3 campuses with very different patient populations

The MCHV campus:

  • level-one trauma center
  • work in a busy emergency room and state-of-the-art surgical arena
  • radiology department performs most of the fluoroscopic studies and integrates closely with a variety of intensive care units

Fletcher Allen Healthcare Fanny Allen Campus, Burlington, VT

The Fanny Allen campus:

  • houses a new rehabilitation center
  • work with a variety of patients from this center
  • work with a large volume of out-patients

Northwestern Medical Center, St. Albans, VT

Northwestern Medical Center:

  • Level Two Trauma Center
  • 70-bed community hospital
  • three radiographic rooms including state-of-the-art digital fluoroscopy and a satellite orthopedic clinic.
  • Offers a variety radiologic imaging services including:
    • sonography
    • mammography
    • CT scanning
    • mobile MR Imaging service
