Cybersecurity Minor

WHY MINOR IN CYBERSECURITY?

Computer and network security as well as security policies and privacies have become critical issues in businesses and private lives. This 18-credit Cybersecurity minor will provide students an opportunity to gain the necessary skills to develop and understand the security components of technology environments. This minor is available to all students and is especially useful to students in the Division of Information Technology & Sciences and the Robert P. Stiller School of Business.

  • Explore the concepts of confidentiality, availability, and integrity in Information Assurance.
  • Learn how to analyze the key factors in Information Assurance for existing systems and design implementations.
  • Be able to identify infrastructure security components and the roles they serve.
  • Develop solutions for networking and security problems, balancing business concerns, technical issues, and security.
