Living on campus is a rich and rewarding experience and an important part of your Champlain education. Residence halls for first-year students are located within the core of the historic Champlain campus. Regular residence hall activities help students make the most of life outside the classroom, while the convenient location of the campus -- just a short walk from downtown Burlington and the Lake Champlain waterfront -- ensures that students have ready access to the shops and services of Vermont’s largest city.

Living Options

Once occupied by some of Burlington’s most illustrious citizens, 18 Victorian mansions in the Hill Section provide unique residence facilities for 700 students. First-year students live in doubles, triples and quads (a few singles are available). Upper class students have the option of living in two modern, suite-style facilities: Main Street Suites and Spinner Place. All halls are co-ed, usually by floor. Bathrooms are single gender. Residence Hall Amenities

• All student rooms are furnished with a bed, desk, chair, bureau and closet space for each student.
• All rooms are equipped with phones and individual voicemail for each student.

• All residence halls have laundry facilities.
• All residence halls are staffed with a combination of student life professionals and student resident assistants.

Dining on Campus

All first-year students who live on campus are required to participate in the meal plan. Students at Champlain can purchase a meal plan which allows them access to the Dining Hall. Cost of the meal plan can be found on our Tuition & Fees page. Students, faculty and staff also frequent our two on-campus restaurants — Jazzman's Café and the Boardroom. [Learn more]
