Champlain College provides a welcoming and supportive community for student veterans, armed forces personnel, and dependents of current and former military services members. We understand your unique needs and are here to help you succeed.

You can obtain a wide array of financial aid as well as military benefits from Champlain College, including financial aid options, credit transfer for service members and fields of study relevant to members of the Armed Forces.

Our office services include:

  • VA and military education benefits counseling
  • Certification of enrollments to the VA
  • VA financial processing
  • Troubleshooting VA and military education benefit issues
  • Coordinating services with VA Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors
  • Faxing documents to the VA Regional Processing Office (RPO)
  • Assistance completing: Veterans Online Application (VONAPP), Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other related applications

Educational Programs and Yellow Ribbon

Qualified Veterans, military service members, and dependents have several benefit options that may be available to you - the most common being the G.I. Bill®. Benefits are based on a variety of factors and are determined by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs. To start the process of determining your eligibility, please use these links.

Using Benefits at Champlain

  1. You must receive approval from your Education Services Officer (ESO) or education counselor prior to enrolling in courses at Champlain. Do not enroll in courses until you have this approval.
  2. Meet with your admissions advisor and enroll at Champlain.
  3. Submit our certification request form. Please note the form does not always work on government computers so you will want to access the form from a private device or computer.
  4. Student Accounts will bill your military branch through its education services portal.
  5. Contact your ESO for any further questions or clarification.
