Friday, June 26 - Sunday, June 28
Would you like to get involved, make friends and find out about Champlain’s leadership opportunities before you even arrive on campus in August? Then, the Champlain College Leadership Experience Summer Launch Program might be for you. You’ll meet like-minded members of the College community, while learning different leadership styles. You’ll also get to work on team-building skills at a local ropes course, and explore all that Burlington has to offer. By the end of this weekend, you’ll have made some new friends and have a great understanding of how to get involved at Champlain.
Community Service in Montreal
Tuesday, July 14- Thursday, July 16This Summer Launch program is an exciting hands-on opportunity where you will build relationships with other incoming students and experience a sense of accomplishment that comes when you commit to giving back to the community. You’ll explore and dine in the exciting city of Montreal and preview Champlain’s own Montreal Campus where you may decide to study abroad. PLEASE NOTE: PASSPORT IS REQUIRED
First Generation Connection
Thursday, July 16- Saturday, July 18If you’re the first person in your family to go to college, you may have a lot of questions. The First Generation Launch Program provides an opportunity to have your questions answered, meet some new classmates and explore your new school. We’ll explore the city, discovering Burlington’s hot spots and the waterfront. You’ll eat delicious food in the IDX Dining Hall and sleep in one of Champlain’s Victorian-era mansion residence halls. More than anything, you’ll build a support system of classmates, current students, faculty and staff that will last throughout your time at Champlain.
Champlain Ultimate Transition Experience
Wednesday, July 22 - Friday, July 24Transitioning to college can be harder for some students than others for any number of reasons. This program will allow you to experience all aspects of college life. While you spend three days living the complete residential, academic and social experience of college, you'll explore all of the resources available on campus and in the community. Participate in activities both on and off campus that will help you create social connections to build on when you return in the fall. Last summer a number of students with diagnosed learning challenges found this session very helpful. To register for the Ultimate Transition Experience, please call or email Skip Harris 802-651-5961, firstname.lastname@example.org or Luke Lewis 802-651-5959, email@example.com
Outdoor Adventure Program
Friday, July 24 - Sunday, July 26
A small group of first-year students will spend three days on a backcountry retreat at a wilderness lodge, building friendships with fellow adventure-minded classmates. Activities include a beginner’s hike, games and exciting opportunities for getting connected. You’ll develop bonds and create friendships that will last well beyond your four years at Champlain. Our Outdoor Adventure Program is an excellent way to kick start your Champlain College Experience. Dare to join us?
"Summer Launch was a fantastic opportunity to make friends with other incoming students without the stress of trying to get to know people during orientation. I'm now a senior and I'm still friends with the people I met there." — David Pictor '14
"Summer launch at Champlain was a great experience because I got to make friendships with other students from my class before I got to Champlain. I met my roommate for my first year at the summer launch program that I did! I would recommend that every incoming student do a summer launch program before they get to Champlain." — Ethan Farmer '16
"It was great to be able to meet other incoming first year students before Orientation. By the time classes started I already had a few friends and it made the transition period so much easier." — Olivia Pratt '14
