About Appreciative Inquiry

Dr. David Cooperrider and Dr. Suresh Srivastva developed the concept of Appreciative Inquiry (AI) at Case Western Reserve University in the late 1980s. Their work with AI helped to create a positive revolution in organizational change, and built a framework that organizations across the globe have used to flourish.

Innovation and Collaboration

AI’s strengths-based approach embodies innovation and collaboration and creates a framework for these to arise from within a business organically. Positive communication among all stakeholders improves creativity, teamwork and commitment.

AI stands out among other Organizational Development theories due to its scalability and generativity.

Both global corporations like Visa and far-reaching nonprofit organizations like United Way have used AI to improve outcomes. Similarly, AI can help small businesses on Main Street unleash their potential.

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.” —R. Buckminster Fuller
