  • Received his undergraduate degree from East Carolina University in Business Administration and Marketing
  • Received his M.Ed from Southern New Hampshire University
  • 2002 TAP graduate
  • Previously  taught at Essex High School  - certified in both Business and Physical Education
  • Former Dean of Students at Essex High School
  • Extensive experience in  educational transformation, special education, and assessment
  • Appointed by Governor Shumlin to the Vermont Standards Board for Professional Educators
  • Member of the Vermont Agency of Education Peer Review Advisory Council
  • Currently Head Soccer Coach at Essex High School

  • Received her undergraduate degree from University of Vermont in both Spanish and Math
  • Received her M.Ed from St. Mikes
  • She is a curriculum and instruction expert
  • Taught at Essex Junction school system for 17 years
  • District wide Mentor teacher coordinator for 10 years
  • TAP curriculum and mentor coordinator

TAP FacultySandy Kish - Field Supervisor

BA in History, Saint Michael’s College, Vermont
MED in Curriculum, Saint Michael’s College, Vermont

Sandy has taught high school and middle school history and social studies in Colchester, Vermont; Warsaw, Poland; Cairo, Egypt; and Budapest, Hungary. As part of the International Baccalaureate Programme overseas, he taught IB History and IB Theory of Knowledge.  In Colchester and Warsaw he started Model United Nations programs, and for seven years he was the MUN director in Budapest.  He coached track and field on three continents.  Sandy feels his biggest accomplishment is being able to relate to and educate students from over 50 countries.


TAP FacultyKaren Kish - Field Supervisor

BA in English, Clark University, Worcester, Mass.
MAT in English, University of Vermont

Karen has taught high school English in Essex, Vermont; Warsaw, Poland; Cairo, Egypt; and Budapest, Hungary.  She was also the International Baccalaureate Programme coordinator in all three international schools.  After teaching students from more than 50 countries and traveling around the world, she is back in Vermont to enjoy cross-country skiing, tennis, hiking, gardening, writing, reading, more traveling, and entertaining three grandsons. 

TAP FacultyJane Goodman - Field Supervisor

Jane worked in th Chittenden Central Supervisory Union for 37 years. She was a teacher, Department Chair, and founder of the Teacher Apprenticeship Program. Jane has worked extensively with new and veteran educators in a variety of roles and mentorships.
