Free Credit Review Day

As student at Champlain College, you have a unique opportunity to receive your personal credit report, your credit score, and take part in a 20-minute professional analysis.  Free Credit Review Day offers you a great chance to increase your knowledge around credit, fix any possible mistakes on your credit report, make an action plan for improving your credit, and potentially save you money and stress in the future!

Free Credit Review Day

  • Look at your Personal Credit Report
  • Review your Tri-Merge Credit Score
  • Consult with a trained volunteer in a private, 20-minute session free! (usual cost: about $25)
  • Leave with a personalized action plan on how to maintain, improve or build your credit!

Although it is not a requirement, it is strongly recommended that students have attended the Understanding Credit workshop before attending this event.

Q: How do I sign up?
A: Use the link available at the end of this page to sign up for a time slot. You will receive a confirmation e-mail with your appointment time and what you need to bring about a week prior to Free Credit Review Day.

Q: What will I need to bring with me when I come to Free Credit Review Day?
A: In order to pull up your credit report and scores, you will need to bring your social security number and a valid ID.

Q: Why is it important that I attend an Understanding Credit workshop before I come to Free Credit Review Day?
A: Understanding Credit will help you understand the basics of your Credit Report and how the system really works. This will help you understand what you are being told in your private meetings. We have seen in the past that when students haven't attended the workshop in advance there are more questions and meetings tend to get cut short due to time constraints.

Q: How is this different from getting my credit report for free at
A: Although you can get your credit report for free, you cannot get your credit score without payment. At this event you will not only get your scores, but you will leave with an action plan of how you can improve your credit rating.

This event is brought to you by the Center for Financial Literacy at Champlain College, Champlain Housing Trust and LEAD, thanks to a generous grant from People's United Bank.
